How and Why You Should Market Your YouTube Videos

Do you enjoy uploading videos that you made to the YouTube website? If so, you may be pleased with all of the traffic that you get. YouTube is known to get thousands of visitors a day. For you, this means that your YouTube videos may be watched by thousands of people or more! As much traffic as YouTube brings you and your videos, you may be looking for more. If you are, you will want to examine other ways to market your YouTube videos. Just a few of the many marketing approaches that you can take are outlined below.

Perhaps, the easiest way to market your YouTube videos is to let friends, family members, or coworkers know that you have videos available for viewing on YouTube. For the best chance of success, you are advised to email the direct links for your YouTube videos to those that you know. If you just happen to mention having your videos on YouTube to a friend in passing, let them know what your videos are about or what your YouTube screen name is. YouTube allows site visitors to browse through all of their videos or search for something in particular, like one of your videos.

Another one of the many ways that you can market your YouTube video is by having any of your videos appear on any websites or blogs that you have. What is nice about YouTube is that you can easily get a few HTML codes. Those codes will enable you or any other internet users to post a YouTube video online. It is not uncommon for bloggers to insert a YouTube video in their blog, by using generated HTML codes. It is advised that you post your own YouTube videos on your own websites, but if you know of anyone else who has a blog, you may want to think about giving them the needed HTML codes to have your YouTube video appear on their blog. In most cases, you will find that even strangers are willing to do so, as long as your YouTube video is connected, in one way or another, to their blog or website.

You can also market your YouTube videos on online message boards. Online message board marketing can be done two different ways. For instance, there are a large number of online message boards that let you discuss of share anything, in general, with other board members. You may want to think about posting links to some of your YouTube videos, especially if you think the other members would enjoy watching them. If you belong to an online message board or forum that allows you to have a signature, you will want to look into doing so. Your signature will always appear at the end of each of your messages; therefore, the more active you are online, the more exposure your YouTube videos are likely to get.

Now that you know a few ways that you can go about marketing your YouTube videos to other internet users, you may be wondering exactly why you should. As it was mentioned above, YouTube, alone, is likely to generate thousands of viewers for your videos. If you are looking for more views, whether just to increase your online popularity or to help you get new clients, if you connect your YouTube videos to your business somehow, you will want to take the time to market your YouTube videos. What is nice is that you have a number of different methods available, including the three mentioned above, and most are free. In fact, marketing your YouTube videos to other internet users isn't only free, but it is easy to. Many marketing tactics will only take up a few minutes of your time, if even that.

The decision as to whether or not you want further market your YouTube videos is yours to make. If you find yourself unsatisfied or unhappy with your current YouTube viewer ship, you may want to think about doing a little bit of your own marketing.

Using Online Video Websites to Promote Your Blog

Blogs have literally taken in the internet by storm. It seems as if just about everyone has a blog. Blogs are so popular that it there is a good chance that you have one. While blogs are nice, it is sometimes difficult to get them seen. Many blog owners, maybe even yourself, are unsure how to go about generating more internet traffic. Luckily for you and other blog owners, there are a number of different ways that you can work to increase the number of page views that your blog receives.

The first step in getting traffic to your blog is to make sure that you have an interesting topic. If you are writing about your personal experiences, you may find that not everyone wants to read about them, that is unless you lead an adventurous life. However, if you blog on a wider range of topics, such as working from home, saving money, or being a good partner, you are automatically likely to get a bigger audience. This is because more internet users, especially ones that you do not know, would be more willing to read information on these topics, rather than your daily adventures or lack of adventures.

Once you have found a topic that you would like to write about, you will need to start creating your blog, if you haven’t already. When making your blog it is important that you write content that will be useful to your blog’s general topic. It is also important to include lots of content. Content is what most search engines use when picking up websites. In the event that your blog gets indexed by a search engine, you will find that your blog’s traffic should automatically increase. This is because a large number of internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for.

Although a high search engine ranking may help to increase the amount of traffic your blog sees, it is sometimes difficult to do. Most individuals do not go further than the third or fourth page, when looking at search engine results. This means that if your blog is not considered to be high ranking, you may not get the results that you were hoping for. However, this does not mean that you should give up. Instead, it means that you just have to find another way to promote your blog.

One of the many other ways that you can go about promoting your blog is through the use of online video websites, particularly the ones that are free to use. Online video websites are websites that allow internet users to upload videos that they have created. Once uploaded, these videos can be viewed by thousands, if not millions, of internet users. If you are looking for a fun and low-cost way to market your blog, you are advised to give online video websites some though.

Before uploading your video, to an online video website, you will have to make your video. To do so, you will need a recording device. The best devices to use include camcorders and webcams. When making your online video, it is important not to make your video sound too pushy or like spam. It may be a good idea to state the purpose of your blog and what can be found there. You may also want to record yourself or someone else visiting your blog to showcase your blog’s features. You could also take still shots, also commonly known as screen shots. These shots will allow you to post pictures of your blog pages. Having those pictures float through your online video is a great way to show internet users what your blog is all about.

Once you have finished making your video, you will need to upload that video to your computer. Once your recording device is hooked up to your computer, it should be recognized by a moving making software program. These programs will not only allow you to save your video, but edit it as well. Once your video is saved, you will need to follow the uploading directions for each online video website that you would like your video or videos to be uploaded to.

It is important to note that you are not guaranteed to see an increase in your blog’s traffic, but why not at least give it a shot? With most video websites being free to use, there shouldn’t be any risks associated with incorporating your blog into your next online video.

Podcasting And the M Word

Ask practically anyone who's involved in the hot new medium referred to as "Podcasting" what business they're in and most of them will probably tell you something like, "I'm in the information (or entertainment) business. I provide information (or entertainment) for my listeners."

It sure sounds like a good answer, doesn't it? And that's what most people doing podcasting really believe in their heart of hearts. Unfortunately, though, it is possible to be sincere and wrong. Which is the case when it comes to the thought process of the majority of podcasters.

Even though that answer is wrong, as we'll see in a moment, it is very close to the correct one. While it is true that most podcasters do create content that includes information, they fail to realize what that statement really means. If you create "something" that contains information, then by virtue of its definition it is literally an information product that is created by the podcaster.

Which means then that podcasters are not in the "information business." Instead, they are in the business of marketing the information product that they create?which is something that most will steadfastly deny.

Let's take a step back and examine what's taking place when a podcast has been created, and then we'll see which activity is really occurring. A podcaster isn't creating an episode because he or she has nothing better to do. On the contrary, once it's been created, the first thing that usually happens is that it is posted in a podcast directory, like iTunes for example.

Why do podcasters do this? Because they want to let their audience know that they have something they want them to listen to. They want to share their message or special information with people who are either like-minded or who have a similar interest.

In other words, they want to get the word out about their latest podcast episode. Hmm; sure sounds a lot like marketing to me. Which is in fact exactly what they are doing, whether they admit it or not.

Now if you're a podcaster (or would like to become one), it's very important to find a number of proven methods to let your audience know about your podcast and its latest episode. Posting in podcast directories is just the tip of the iceberg, though.

Some other marketing avenues are:

–Including mention of your podcast and its latest episode in your newsletter
–Featuring information about it in your updated website content
–Mentioning it in your E-mail signature
–Including it in your signature when you post at forums
–Posting details about your latest episode on your blog
–Mentioning it in bulletin board posts on social sites like MySpace
–Creating a press release if your podcast features a well-known guest
–Offering a preview of your podcast on your site or blog

After reviewing the list above it's pretty obvious that successful podcasters really are in the marketing business. And to remain successful, they must continue to discover additional ways to get the word out about their podcasts.
